Rules for Deuces and Queens Solitaire

Play Deuces and Queens

Description:

A variation on Aces and Kings where building is allowed on the tableau.

Cards:

Two standard decks. Since suits don't matter, politaire substitutes a suitless deck of cards.

No card is "lowest" or "highest". Kings may be played on aces and vice versa..

Goal:

Move all cards to the foundation.

Foundation:

There are two groups of foundation piles.

Ace Foundation:

The ace foundation contains four piles.

Any two may be moved to any empty pile in the ace foundation.

A card may be added onto a ace foundation pile if it is one higher than the old top card of the pile and of any suit. Thus, the only card that could be played on an 8 would be a 9. No pile may contain more than 13 cards.

King Foundation:

The king foundation contains four piles.

Any queen may be moved to any empty pile in the king foundation.

A card may be added onto a king foundation pile if it is one lower than the old top card of the pile and of any suit. Thus, the only card that could be played on a 4 would be a 3. No pile may contain more than 13 cards.

Cards may be moved back off of any foundation..

Reserve:

There are three reserves, initially containing thirteen cards each. All cards are dealt face up. It is not possible to move any cards into the reserves. The top card of each reserve can be played to any non-empty tableau pile or the foundation.

Tableau:

Four tableau piles of one card each, splayed downward. All cards are dealt face up.

A card may be added onto a tableau pile if it is one higher than or one lower than the old top card of the pile and of any suit. Thus, the cards that could be played on 9 would be 8 or 10.

Cards on the tableau that are not under another card are available for play onto the foundation or any non-empty tableau pile.

Empty spaces in the tableau are automatically filled with a card from the stock. If the stock is empty, then empty spaces in the tableau may not be filled.

Only one card may moved at a time, never sequences.

Stock and Waste:

The remaining cards form the stock and there is one waste pile.

Each time you click on the stock, one card will be dealt from the stock to the waste. Only one pass through the stock is permitted.

The top card of the waste is available for play to any non-empty tableau pile or the foundation.
